Minecraft fans have created real redstone blocks to perform different functions

Minecraft has been used for many years not only as a sandbox game, but also for educational, therapeutic and cultural purposes. Using Minecraft, students are taught a variety of subjects, from architecture to programming. But some students are taking the initiative and bringing Minecraft to reality.

A good example of this is the video from reddit user  u / PYEEDM . For the tutorial, his team recreated various programming blocks from Minecraft that can be used to perform various actions. For example, play sounds, turn on lights and make the drive move.

Each unit is completely independent from the system, includes its own battery and microcontroller for operation. The team used LEDs and photoresistors to wirelessly communicate signals on different sides. At the same time, the software supports interaction between different blocks, so that chains can be made. 

There is nothing particularly unique inside. In fact, these are boxes with a board, LED, sensors and elements corresponding to the functionality, for example, a speaker:
