The Blue Box Game studio has announced in a blog format on the PlayStation website the survival horror game Abandoned , which is in a very early development studio. The game will be a PS5 exclusive.
Game director of the title Hasan Kahraman described his creation as a cinematic survival horror with shooter elements. The action will take place in a detailed open world with a realistic approach to survival.
Abandoned’s plot revolves around Jason Longfield, who wakes up in a strange forest, not knowing how he got here. He later realizes that he was kidnapped and abandoned here for some “dark purpose”. Jason’s job is to escape.
Kahraman said that Abandoned will give a unique gameplay experience in which every event or action will have an impact on the hero. If Jason gets tired after running (or gets scared), then the shooting accuracy will drop noticeably. The developer emphasized that the game is not a straightforward shooter. The player will have to carefully think over their actions and not get into the battle once again.
Abandoned will receive support for the features of the DualSense controller, 3D sound, and will also work in native 4K at 60 FPS. Full gameplay video coming soon. The release is scheduled for late 2021.
