Japan is a separate and very specific market, which is not so easy to get into. However, Microsoft seems to have found a way to advertise the Xbox Game Pass service in the Land of the Rising Sun. To do this, the company hired virtual YouTubers popular in Japan – Shishiro Botan and Himemori Luna.
Nobody officially announced such cooperation. However, both (or both?) YouTubers were streaming Game Pass games at about the same time. Of course, no one canceled the coincidences, but it’s hard to believe in them.
Shishiro Botan and Himemori Luna are quite popular in Japan – their channels have 738 thousand and 529 thousand subscribers, respectively.
Microsoft wasn’t the first corporation to partner with virtual youtubers. During the PS5 advertising campaign, Sony sent the console to many streamers – including virtual ones. So the jerseys, in fact, simply copy the moves of the competitor.
