Tencent, Sony and Square Enix have invested in cloud technology

Cloud studio Ubitus announced a massive investment from game developers. Investors in the cloud included giants such as Tencent, Sony and Square Enix, as well as “several other big gaming companies.”

According to the studio, this investment will benefit the entire gaming industry:

Cloud gaming technologies are under development that can maximize the benefits of the 5G network and mobile edge computing (MEC). Cloud game virtualization automation, making it easier to upload videos, should attract nearly all developers to hosting their content in the cloud. AR / VR support that appears in games and entertainment is also on the Ubitus plans.

Ubitus was founded in Tokyo in 2013. The company considers itself a “leader in cloud gaming” and its official partners include Microsoft, Google, SEGA, AMD, Nvidia, Nintendo, 2K, Ubisoft, Capcom, Konami and many other studios.
