Italian company Digital Bros, which owns publishing house 505 Games, has published a report for the first half of the 2020-2021 fiscal year. Despite the coronavirus and the decline in retail sales, the corporation’s revenues only increased:
- The company’s total revenue increased by 21.4% to € 82.38 million. At the same time, 85% of the total amount falls on digital sales (last year this figure was only 48%)
- Video game revenues increased 28.8% to € 74.7 million. Most profitable sales of Death Stranding, Control, Ghostrunner, Assetto Corsa and PayDay 2
- Free-to-play revenue grows from € 3.34 million to € 4.48 million thanks to the acquisition of Australian studio Infinity Plus Two (Gems of War, Puzzle Quest)
In addition, plans for the future are indicated in the report. The company said it has invested around € 83 million to acquire 21 new IPs. Several major releases are expected in the second half of the fiscal year, one of which will be the “second version of Assetto Corsa”. Apparently, we are talking about a full-fledged sequel to the car simulator.
