Escaped prisoner caught in UK buying new Call of Duty

Clint Butler, 36, served 17 years in prison for various crimes, including robbery and robbery with firearms. He was supposed to leave in 2024. The criminal managed to escape from prison on November 28 last year, but he remained at large only until January 13 – he was caught when he and a friend decided to buy Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Butler was stopped by police on a street in Birmingham. He was asked why he went outside during the pandemic. He answered bluntly:

I went out for the new Call of Duty because I can’t sit in isolation.

One of the officers explained that Butler and his companion were stopped because they apparently turned around and tried to leave when they saw the police. After that, Butler kicked the officer and tried to escape. Then he was thrown to the ground.

Since then, Butler has returned to prison, adding another 13 months to his sentence for escaping and six months for assaulting police. It is unknown why he decided to risk his return to prison in order to buy a video game. Moreover, there are online stores.
