The Shaman King anime kicks off on April 1st

Bridge Studio has unveiled a new trailer for the reboot of the Shaman King anime. The animated series must adapt all of the original manga and its true ending. The show kicks off on April 1st and will hit Netflix later this year.

The opening and ending theme were performed by Japanese singer Megumi Hayashibara, who was already working with the 2001 adaptation. In the video, you can just hear an excerpt from the opening song of Soul Salvation. The Shaman King was directed by Joji Furuta (season two of The Seven Deadly Sins) and written by Shoji Enemur (One Piece and Berskerk).

The anime will tell the story of Yo Asakura, who must win the shaman tournament. In the course of the plot, he improves his skills, gains new abilities and meets other applicants. The tournament takes place once every 500 years.
