NVIDIA announced that it will begin rolling out support for the Resizable BAR option in March, which increases the performance of RTX 30 chips by 10%. They will start with the RTX 3060, and the rest of the cards will be pulled up by the end of the month.
Resizable BAR is analogous to AMD’s Smart Access Memory, which gives direct processor access to video memory without using 256 MB blocks. Re-BAR is supported by Intel 10th and 11th Gen processors and AMD Ryzen 4000 and 5000.
The 10% increase also depends on the resolution of the game and the availability of support in a particular title. While Resizable BAR supports the following games:
- Assassin’s creed valhalla
- Battlefield v
- Borderlands 3
- Forza horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Metro exodus
- Red dead redemption 2
- Watch Dogs: Legion
Other graphics cards and games will receive support at a later date via VBIOS updates.
