NieR Automata sales exceed 5.5 million copies

Despite its age, NieR: Automata  continues to be actively bought. Today, the game is exactly 4 years old since its release in Japan. In honor of the occasion, Square Enix updated the title’s sales figures to over 5.5 million copies.

Today, 23 February, NieR: Automata turns 4 years old. Cumulative worldwide sales exceeded 5.5 million copies.

Considering the number of units sold at the end of December last year, it can be calculated that in two months the game was purchased by 500 thousand users on all available platforms (PC, PS4, Xbox One). NieR: Automata is Platinum Games’ most successful game to date .

The studio is currently working on reimagining the original 2010 NieR. The title, called NieR Replicant, will be released on April 23 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Whether there will be a version for the new consoles Sony and Microsoft is still unknown.
