Jeff Bezos steps down as head of Amazon

Amazon announced that founder Jeff Bezos will step down as CEO in the third quarter of 2021, taking on a new role as chairman of the board. The news was announced as part of the fourth quarter 2020 financial report. The new head of Amazon will be Andy Jesse, now head of Amazon Web Services.

Bezos did not personally comment on the leadership changes. Now Jeff is one of the richest people in the world in terms of capitalization. His current fortune is estimated at $ 197 billion. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Amazon’s revenues have only grown. Revenue for the quarter is close to $ 120 billion, analysts predict.

What exactly Bezos will do in the new position and how the 57-year-old billionaire will use the freed up time are not reported. Perhaps he will devote more time to his cosmic plans.
