Twitter has launched a special program called Birdwatch on its social network. It is designed to help fight the misinformation that has recently greatly affected community relations.
Today we are introducing Birdwatch, a public-centered approach to combating misinformation. You can add notes with useful context to tweets that you think contain misleading information.
The essence of the program is that Twitter will relieve itself of some of the responsibilities for verifying the accuracy of every published information on the network. The company will be helped by the users themselves. Certain tweets will be marked with a special marker.
At this stage, a limited number of US users are participating in the program.
