Huawei is preparing to sell the P and Mate line of smartphones

Reuters, citing its own sources, reported that Huawei has begun negotiations to sell its premium P and Mate smartphones. The deal has been discussed with Shanghai investors for several months.

Huawei reportedly began exploring the sale last September. Huawei shipped $ 39.7 billion worth of smartphones in the 2019-2020 fiscal year, according to consultancy IDC. For now, Huawei has denied any mention of the deal.

However, there is a possibility that Huawei will abandon the sale of the P and Mate line if it can resolve the issue with the production of Kirin processors. The company is currently going through difficult times due to US sanctions. Huawei is banned from doing business in the states, and besides this, the Chinese giant was denied access to Google services and the Play Store.
