Hideo Kojima gave a video interview at the New York Game Awards, dedicated to many moments of his life and contemporary issues. In it, he called for world peace and the unification of mankind.
The game designer believes the world is even more divided than it was before Death Stranding .
One of the reasons Hideo wanted to do Death Stranding was to help bring people together. He wanted to show how important the connections between humanity are. During the planning phase of Death Stranding, Kojima noticed that the world was becoming more and more divided, and people were isolated from each other. This trend has only intensified since the release of the game.
In the future, Kojima hopes that people can unite.
The world was more and more divided. People became isolated. So we did Death Stranding. Then, after the game was released, the coronavirus hit, Brexit became a reality, and there was another US presidential election. The world is still very divided.
But I hope that humanity will unite and we can all live in peace.
Death Stranding was released on November 8 and is now available on PC, PS4 and PS5.
