Attentive gamers have noticed that Dave Molloy, creative director of cutscenes at Sucker Punch, has updated his linked profile description. A line appeared in it: “Currently working on the game Ghost of Tsushima for Sony PS5.”
Judging by the fact that the description does not contain the word “update” and the strange wording “Ghost of Tsushima game” has been chosen, this is a sequel, not a nextgen update. Previously, hints of a potential sequel were found in the studio’s vacancies: they are looking for a scriptwriter and designer of combat systems.
Sucker Punch and Sony have not yet commented on the situation.
Back in October last year, the game’s developers announced that Ghost of Tsushima will be available on PS5 for backward compatibility – no paid upgrades. Perhaps something has changed during this time, and Molloy’s profile hints that the studio is ready to release an improved version.
Ghost of Tsushima is available on PS4 and PS5 and has become one of the best exclusives of the past year.
