Liam Neeson gained mega-popularity after the “Hostage” trilogy and over time became known as an actor in various action films and action games. In them, he saves other people alone most of the time. But the actor is already 68, and he is tired of these roles.
In an interview with Peoople, he said that in a couple of films he would leave the genre.
I like doing this. I’m like a kid in a candy store.
I will make a couple more films this year if COVID permits, and I think I will finish.
Liam Neeson also revealed that Paramount Pictures and Seth McFarlane offered him the lead role in the reboot of the action comedy Naked Gun. The actor did not tell reporters that he responded to this proposal, but gave an interesting comment:
This role will either bury my career or direct it in a new direction.
The first time they started talking about restarting “Naked Gun” was back in 2013, but almost 8 years have passed, and Paramount has not moved towards release. Perhaps McFarlane can put new life into old films. Leslie Nielsen played the main role in them, and it was a great parody of masculine action films.
