Jodie Turner-Smith to star in The Witcher prequel

Deadline has announced that Netflix has found a lead actress for The Witcher’s prequel, The Witcher: Blood Origin. She became Jodie Turner-Smith, best known for the movie “Queen and Slim” and the TV series “Flying Through the Night”.

According to the media, Turner-Smith will play the role of Eily Lite, nicknamed Lark. Previously, there were rumors on the network that two women would be at the center of the plot – the second would be Princess Mervyn.

The Witcher: Blood Origin is a six-episode film set in The Witcher universe, which Netflix will shoot from the original script. Events will unfold 1200 years before the Geralt Arc and will be associated with a magical event in the universe – the Conjunction of the Spheres.

Filming is scheduled to begin between May and December 2021. A full-fledged premiere is expected no earlier than 2022. According to rumors, Jason Momoa will take part in the show .
