The Daily Mail reported that streaming service Disney + has banned children under the age of seven from watching cartoons “Dumbo”, “Peter Pen”, “The Swiss Robinson Family” and “Aristocratic Cats”. The reason was hints of racism, which have been talked about for a long time and for which a special inscription is shown in front of cartoons.
It states that some animated films contain scenes that may offend people of different cultures.
“Peter Pan” was banned due to the fact that Native Americans are called redskins. “Dumbo” was hit by a scene in which a crow makes fun of African Americans, and “Aristocratic Cats” and “The Swiss Robinson Family” – for characters with a cartoonish Asian appearance.
The cartoons are available at Disney +, but cannot be found when viewed through a children’s account. They are not going to delete them, but the service representatives did not respond to the publication’s request.
