The VGC publication, citing several anonymous sources, reported that the development of the Resident Evil 4 remake has been partially restarted. The process is now managed by Capcom Division 1, the main division of the company responsible for DMC and RE.
It is believed that until recently the development was dominated by the M-Two studio under the direction of the former PlatinumGames boss Tatsuya Minami. According to VGC, after the audit at the end of last year, there were disagreements between Capcom and M-Two – Capcom wanted more new, M-Two – on the contrary. Minami’s studio took into account the negative reaction of many fans to the Resident Evil 3 remake, which was in many ways different from the original source and was also developed by her.
Capcom allegedly wants to bring new unique elements to the gameplay mechanics, plot, locations, and so on. M-Two will continue to help, but not in a leadership role.
Resident Evil 4 remake unannounced. At the same time, the entire studio M-Two to create with an eye to this project. Due to a partial restart, the release will not take place until 2023.
