It looks like the cult Batman animated series by Alan Burnett and Paul Deaney, released in 1992, will receive a sequel. This was announced by Kevin Smith’s co-host on the Fatman Beyond podcast Mark Bernardin.
A sequel is already in the works and will appear on the HBO Max streaming service.
HBO Max wants to create a sequel to Batman: The Animated Series and develop it further.
Smith added that he had heard similar information from reliable sources, but he himself was not involved in the creation in any way.
Batman: The Animated Series ran from 1992 to 1995. The concept for the series was inspired by the Dark Knight Returns comic by Frank Miller, Tim Burton films and Superman cartoons. The main roles in the Batman animated series were voiced by Kevin Conroy, Bob Hastings, Mark Hammil and others.
