Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Jude Law, Edkar Wright and others from the film industry have asked the UK government to help cinemas. They sent a letter to the authorities with this request.
We recognize the support that the government has already been able to provide. But we fear that this will not be enough, since the biggest problems are faced by large cinema chains that have not received targeted funding.
We urgently need financial support so that future generations can enjoy the magic of cinema.
According to directors, actors and producers, if not provide timely financial support to cinemas, then in the future this could negatively affect the entire industry. At the moment, the industry is “on the edge of an abyss.”
Guy Ritchie, Matthew Vaughn, David Yates, Stephen Woolley and others are also among the signatories. In total, the initiative was supported by about 40 people from the world of cinema.
