PUBG’s battle royale universe will be expanded next year with the horror The Callisto Protocol from Dead Space creator Glen Scofield, but it won’t be the only game in the universe. Bloomberg announced that another title will be released later this year for PC and consoles, as well as a new battle royale for mobile devices.
This became known from the words of the general director of the South Korean company Krafton Kim Chan Han. Krafton is home to studios such as Bluehole, PUBG Corp, and Striking Distance, where Glen Scofield is working on The Callisto Protocol. The company will go public this year, so it is important for it to strengthen its position with new hits.
Bloomberg also confirms that an animated show for streaming services, including a PUBG web cartoon, is in the works. The company is also working on the issue of adapting PUBG in the form of shows and films.
As of July of last year, PUBG has sold an impressive 70 million copies on PC and consoles, with 600 million downloads.
