Users have noticed that the publisher Take-Two has patented new online features that may be related to GTA Online or GTA 6 multiplayer. These are two patents.
The first reveals the features of the navigation system and the pathfinding algorithm for AI. According to the patent, data on the location of characters, NPCs and other objects will be stored on the publisher’s servers, and gamers will receive ready-made coordinates.
The second patent describes a new session system in multiplayer games. The function will be able to redistribute the game worlds of different people among themselves. That is, lonely players in a certain part of the map will be united with the same ones. At the same time, areas where there are too many gamers will be divided.
Another interesting patent was discovered recently, although the company filed it back in 2017, but has not yet been processed. It describes a system in which different areas of the city will change dynamically.
Another example: an old and dirty area can be created with more objects with the properties “old”, “broken”, “rusty”, “cheap”, and so on. The player tries to improve the city in which he lives by completing tasks, and the engine will be able to gradually replace objects with the properties described above for others, such as “new”, “expensive”, “hipster”, “updated” and so on.
Thus, the area will improve.
Something similar already exists in GTA Online, but at the level of personal property. This is manifested much better in Red Dead Redemption 2, in which the locations are really dynamically changing. However, some users decided that this patent still refers to GTA VI.
According to rumors, the game will offer several cities, a couple of protagonists, and the player will have at his disposal “his own settlement”, as in Fallout 4. It can be improved and equipped in every way. While this is just a guess.
