Life on the frontier is difficult. Exhausting work and becoming badly conducive to the relationship between husbands and wives in those days, so the friendship between the two girls flows into a romantic relationship that no one is happy about. This is what the drama “The World to Come” is about, the trailer of which was presented by the company Bleecker Street.
Director: Mona Fastwold Lerche. Starring: Katherine Waterston, Vanessa Kirby, Christopher Abbott and Casey Affleck.
1850s, New York. It’s still a long way from the birth of the Big Apple; instead of the megacities of the future, there are farms and a modest rural life led by settlers. Among them are Dyer and his wife Abigail, who carefully captures everyday life in diary notes, this is her way of resisting routine. The same young family – Finney and Tully – live on a neighboring farm. Friendship between peers arises at first sight and quickly develops into something deeper and more passionate than ordinary friendships. Something that makes men jealous, envious and angry.
“The World to Come” will be released on February 2 in the United States.
