Kevin Smith announced that he has completed work on a draft version of the script for the third “Clerks”. According to the director, he started writing the script on December 28 and in 16 days he got 101 A4 pages.
Smith will now distribute the draft to his loved ones to test their reaction to the story told. The director also noted that this is the second version of the script, and the first was written back in 2014. However, the director is glad that it was not possible to film it.
In this version of the script, the story is much more personal than in the previous one. While working on it, I reflected on the seizure that nearly finished me three years ago. In a strange way, it was this event that pushed me to write the script, for the first time in a long time I thought about how close I was to passing away.
This script made me not only think about death, but also laugh out loud, it’s damn funny. Dante, Randal, Elias, Becky, Jay and Silent Bob are back, and in general, thanks to the plot, in the third part all the characters of the first and second films can somehow appear.
Earlier, Smith said that the third film will be the end of the saga. Jeff Anderson and Brian O’Halloran will return to the role of the main characters, and Jason Mewes and Smith himself will again play Jay and Silent Bob.
