Actor Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Other War) during an interview on SiriusXM talked about meeting Will Smith. It happened at the birthday of the latter.
According to Maki, he attended the actor’s celebration in Budapest when he turned 50 (where Gemini was filmed). Anthony made a big cake, but did not expect at all what would happen on the anniversary.
Oh, that’s a funny story. In short, here we are taking the cake onto the stage. Will Smith sees me like, “Hey Anthony Mackie!” I thought it’s cool that Will knows my name. So I reached out to give him a five. I don’t know what exactly confused him. Maybe he thought I was going to hug him.
He tried to take my hand and hit me in the jaw very hard. You know, such a professional cross blow. Then he grabbed me and asked, they say, “Is everything okay?” I began to doubt, and in response asked him, maybe we had some kind of enmity with him. But, no, he immediately apologized.
In the same interview, Maki spoke out about not knowing who the new Captain America will be. The actor noted that at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve gives the shield to Sam, but that doesn’t mean Falcon is Cap.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier launches on Disney + on March 19th. The series will receive six episodes of 40-50 minutes each. Maki also takes part in the filming of the film “Death Zone”.
