While PUBG and PUBG Mobile are developed separately, each following its own path, both games receive updates on a regular basis with new content. And the next update to PUBG Mobile, now to version 1.2, introduced superpowers into the game.
PUBG Studio has added Runic Powers to the mobile version of the Battle Royale. In this mode, players receive special abilities that are suspiciously reminiscent of the magic battle royale Spellbreak. But of course this is just a coincidence and no one is borrowing ideas.
After choosing the Erangel card, players are presented with three types of Runes: Arctic Rune, Wind Rune and Fire Rune. Each endows the character with two skills: one summons an object, the second activates a boost.
The Arctic Rune allows you to summon a wall of ice blocks 3 by 3, and the boost includes freezing cartridges that reduce the effectiveness of healing on a wounded enemy. The Rune of Wind allows you to summon a protective sphere that reduces damage from bullets, the boost increases the speed of reloading and movement. The Rune of Fire allows you to summon a wheel of magma, which rolls forward and damages enemies in its path, while the boost makes the bullets fire, setting enemies on fire, which deals damage over time.
Considering last year’s crossover activity with Metro, and now also magic, PUBG Mobile looks more and more like a hodgepodge. But as long as gamers play and give money, development continues. Moreover, it brings variety to the familiar gameplay.
Super Powers will be active in PUBG Mobile until March 7th.
