Ubisoft Massive and LucasFilm Games Are Working On New Star Wars Game

The publication Wired reported that Bethesda was not the only partner of LucasFilm Games in the work on games based on the films of the film studio. Another game, now based on “Star Wars”, is being developed by the developers of The Division – the Swedish studio Ubisoft Massive.

Based on the description, it will be an open world title. The development uses the SnowDrop engine, and the game director is Julian Gerity, who was the creative director of The Division 2. According to Yves Guillemot, this will be an original adventure story that will be different from anything that came out before.

Ubisoft Massive and LucasFilm Games Are Working On New Star Wars Game

LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy has said she wants to continue to expand the Star Wars franchise and continue to develop legacy games based on it. This announcement is just the first of many that players can count on.

You shouldn’t count on a quick release of a new game. The game is currently in the early stages of development. The game may not be released until 2023, when EA loses its exclusivity in publishing Star Wars games.

There are no other details of the future title, but for Massive it will be a serious test, because the studio is working on a game based on James Cameron’s “Avatar” and could already switch to the development of The Division 3, which was not officially announced.
