Comedian and actor Kevin Hart has signed a major deal with Netflix, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Hart will produce and star in four films for the streaming service. The deal will then move into a “first glance” stage, when Netflix will get the right to look at new projects by Hart and his company HartBeat.
The actor commented on the deal:
The Netflix partnership is an amazing opportunity for HartBeat and me. I’m thrilled to be filming and producing cutting edge films with Netflix. I am extremely grateful to Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber, we share the same creative vision and always put the audience first.
Netflix CEO Scott Stuber:
Netflix has had a long relationship with Kevin and we are fortunate enough to collaborate with him many times. He is a seasoned producer and it was great to watch him build the incredible HartBeat company.
Hart is currently busy with a variety of projects: the action comedy “The Man from Toronto” with Jason Statham, the adaptation of Borderlands and the drama True Story with Weisley Snipes for Netflix.
