LG unveiled a sliding-screen smartphone today during its own presentation at CES 2021. At the beginning of the video (2:07) and at the end (28:29), there is a gadget whose body is pulled out.
The smartphone is expected to enter the market in March this year.
No details were given about the smartphone, the company focused on other products. However, the LG Rollable could be the first commercially available device in this form factor, given the company’s love of experimentation.
LG also unveiled an updated line of OLED panels. The main feature is the 20% increased energy efficiency of the 77-inch panels. Now for partners will be available 42-inch OLED matrix, although before the minimum was 48.
It is not known when such panels will be used in LG TVs and partner devices. Perhaps the company will announce something else in this direction while CES 2021 is underway, or will provide details later this year.
NVIDIA will host its conference today. Showcase innovations in games and graphics. CES 2021 runs until January 14.
