Recently, news has accumulated around Dying Light 2 that make fans of the series worry about the second part. This includes the departure of screenwriter Pavel Selinger.
However, Techland urges gamers not to worry.
The studio commented on Selinger’s departure and clarified a few points in response to a request from Wccftech. First, Selinger has never been an art director, second, a replacement has already been found for him.
Pavel Selinger, who has been working as a narrative designer for the last two years, at the end of 2020 decided to end his collaboration with Techland and pursue his career elsewhere. Pavel spent most of his time at Techland and put a lot of effort into the success of the Call of Juarez series. He left a significant part of himself in Dying Light 2 as he worked on the game from the very beginning.
His responsibilities, that is, the storytelling department, were transferred to Piotr Szymanek in October 2020. We would like to assure all fans of the upcoming Dying Light 2 that the post of Art Director is not in jeopardy and that Eric Cauchonneau has been taking over since November 2019.
Since then, Eric has taken care of all aspects of the current production, and the team under his leadership is doing everything possible to offer players the best game possible. We’ll be sharing exciting news about Dying Light 2 soon .
The second part of the zombie action was announced in 2018, and since then the title has gone through many problems, including transfers and internal conflicts in the studio. Last year, for example, Techland fired game director and screenwriter Chris Avellone.
The game is probably not doing very well, although Techland has a different opinion, which she will share shortly. If the studio does not have any new problems, then the release of the game should take place this year.
