Another Awesome Games Done Quick event has come to an end. Last week, some of the fastest players in the world came together to play new and old games. And all this in the name of charity.
By the end of AGDQ 2021, which lasted 7 days, $ 2,758,847 had been raised. The last speedrunner was CLG ZFG, who completed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in 42 minutes during the broadcast. All proceeds will be donated directly to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, an international cancer control and research organization.
Games streamed included new games like Hades, Cuphead, River City Girls and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, and classics like Ecco the Dolphin, Strider and Aladdin. Regular attendees from Silent Hill, Metroid, Spyro the Dragon, and Donkey Kong Country are also back.
AGDQ is held twice a year. During it, speedrunners collect donations for a week in order to transfer them to various funds.
