In the Gotham Knights announced last summer, players can control one of four Gotham Knights – Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood and Batgirl. But the game can be played entirely in co-op, designed for two players.
According to studio executive producer Fleur Marty, while Gotham Knights shares similarities with the Batman Arkham games, players should expect “more variety and types of challenges” from the new game.
We’ve completely reworked the combat system to work well in co-op. Of course, the game is still in the genre familiar to the Arkham series, and some of the mechanics will not seem new. But the game is different in many ways.
Marty added that Gotham Knights will allow you to switch between heroes at almost any time you want, when you return to the batfamily’s lair.
Since the development of the plot is shared among all the characters, each character develops in parallel. Since each member of the Bat family will also have Gotham in the background, while the player fights crime and unravels mysteries, other heroes also act. So it makes sense that they get more experienced and stronger together.
So the player will not feel discomfort from the fact that one hero is pumped weaker than the other.
Released in 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
