Variety reported that Netflix plans to open several new studios near Seoul. The goal is to release more Korean films, TV series and various shows.
The service wants to rent two film studios in Gyeonggi Province. If all goes well, then in addition to the existing pavilions for filming, Netflix will have nine more new ones with different areas.
Service VP Amy Reinhard commented:
We are very pleased to increase our investment in Korea for the production of Korean films, TV series and various shows. If Netflix opens new studios, we can create compelling stories for viewers straight from Korea.
Reinhadr also said that the Korean adaptation of the Spanish TV series “Paper House” is among the projects that will be filmed at the new sites.
