More than seven years have passed since the release of Rust in Early Access, and the game continues to set records for the number of players. This is all thanks to the increased popularity among streamers on Twitch. The game reached an impressive record of over a million viewers.
According to SteamDB , Rust has reached a new concurrent peak of 134,483 users. This is not much higher than previous records: the daily peaks of the title range from 70 to 100 thousand, and the last record of 125 thousand was set in April. This is a major accomplishment for a game that has been around for most of a decade. Achievement is directly related to streams.
However, on Twitch, Rust’s growth has reached unprecedented heights. The peaks reached over 1.2 million viewers. Usually there were less than 100 thousand of them, but from the end of December, a sharp increase began. All thanks to such popular players as Shroud and xQc. There are also many Spanish-speaking streamers playing the game.
Rust came out of Early Access on February 8, 2018 on PC.
