While Cyberpunk 2077 players continue to suffer from performance on the base PS4 and Xbox One, YouTube blogger Kevin Kenson has launched CD Projekt RED on the Atari VCS console. He did not experience any particular difficulties, since the Atari console has a special PC mode on board.
The user only needs to insert the drive with the installed operating system and reboot.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Atari VCS is performing poorly as expected. As Kenson joked, the player can even count frames per second by eye. This arrangement is not at all surprising, since the console has rather weak hardware, but the main problem lies in the RAM – there is very little of it, and almost all of the available volume goes to the background services of Windows 10.
What’s inside the Atari VCS:
- 14nm AMD Ryzen 3 2200U (2 cores / 4 threads)
- 4/8 GB RAM
- Radeon Vega 3 Graphics with 4GB DDR4
The blogger said that the console pulls out Fortnite and Hades quite tolerably on minimal settings, but still its main purpose is the ability to play classic Atari titles.
