Despite the fact that Amber Heard has become an enemy number one for many Johnny Depp fans, she remains a sought-after actress. In a new interview, Hurd spoke about the character of Nadine Cross from The Stand and compared her to Mera from Aquaman.
In the series, I tried to show Nadine from different sides, including her human. The seducer can be vulnerable too, right? Seduction and vulnerability are not mutually exclusive … I think Nadine is no more seductress than a survivor, she uses the tools she has to survive in a world in which she is treated in a certain way.
The actress revealed that she definitely manages to play bad female characters. At the same time, Mera from “Aquaman” has a completely different character, she is more kind and does not use her abilities to achieve her evil goals.
Nadine and Mera are complete opposites. What I seem to be really good at is making viewers believe my female character’s evil intentions. In fact, in “Aquaman” I had to move away from that and play the woman who does not use her charms for evil reasons.
Nadine, on the other hand, is full of psychological trauma. Therefore, I had to study how, for example, people behave when they are controlled. To get used to such a role means to understand people who have been in cults that commit terrible crimes.
The series “Confrontation” is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, which was released in 1978 and tells about the post-apocalyptic world after a global epidemic, in which two opposing groups of people remained. The writer took part in the development of the series.
With the rise of Heard’s career, Depp’s acting career began to decline. Films with his participation were removed from the American Netflix library. The actor has lost his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and, according to rumors, the role of Harry Houdini in the Jerry Bruckheimer television series.
