Microsoft registered the Xbox Series XS trademark on December 29, 2020. This action has led some users to think that the development of a new system is already in full swing. They believe the name indicates a smaller version of the Xbox Series X.
The prospect of a new console coming out so soon after the launch of the Xbox Series X / S looks strange, but trademarks are often registered long before the announcement happens. Perhaps Microsoft was just playing it safe to announce a smaller version of the Series X in a few years.
However, it might just be a term for the next generation of consoles. This makes sense so that Micrisoft can better label all of its next generation consoles.
Even if it is true a scaled-down version of the Xbox Series X, it shouldn’t be expected soon. The Xbox One S came out three full years after the base Xbox One was released.
Xbox Series X / S released on December 10 and are in short supply right now.
