Overwatch is a Blizzard production that stands out on the market with its specific appearance. Looking at the various screenshots from Overwatch, it would be difficult to confuse this game with any other. Therefore, the players were really impressed by Michael Shinde’s project.
Michael recreated Dust 2, an iconic location from Counter Strike: Global Offensive in Overwatch climates. How exactly did it come out?
Dust 2 from CS: GO in Overwatch
There has been much talk in the history of Overwatch about special modding tools that would allow you to create your own locations. Interestingly, something like this will soon be in Fortnite. In addition to the Creative Mode with pre-made presets, Epic plans to share its own tools with players.
Blizzard created a proprietary engine, so something like this, although not impossible, would take a huge amount of time. Gamers would surely appreciate this effort, as shown by Michael’s design.
If the community got ready-made lumps, there would be a whole lot of different maps, perhaps even inspired by CS: GO.
So far it is unrealistic, but it was similar with Fortnite. Finally, we managed to introduce modding tools in the creative mode, which resulted in not only the Dust 2 graphic design, but also its playable version.
Perhaps someday, in the distant future, such opportunities will also come to Overwatch. So far, however, these are dreams.
