InnerSloth has to maintain more and more servers, and revenues from the mobile version are simply too small to be profitable. Let us remind you that as many as 97% of players choose mobile devices with Android and iOS systems. Interestingly, however, the revenue from the PC version has a greater share of InnerSloth’s total earnings, amounting to 64%
Overall phone revenues were expected to be 10 million, of which 8 million is iOS and 3 million dollars is Android. Why so? It’s about better advertising.
Among Us will become payable on phones?
There was a loud rumor on the web that the maintenance costs of Among Us in the free version exceed what the PC version earns. The key issue here will be the release of the production for Xbox and Playstation consoles.
This is to happen theoretically in 2021, which was confirmed by the developers themselves on official social profiles. If the revenue from the consoles does not exceed the cost of the mobile version, then there are several things to be expected.
Probably Among won’t switch to the paid version overnight. The makers have many options for monetization Among Us. Among others:
- Paid cosmetic items
- Paid maps (something that used to work in the game before)
- Battle Pass
There are quite a few options, and they will probably only be selected after the premiere of Among Us on consoles. So far, there is nothing to worry about. We would like to remind you that the game is paid the same on PC and Nintendo Switch.
