New EA Patent Aims To Improve Facial Animations In Games

Electronic Arts filed for a new patent on December 8th. According to the description, with the help of it the company will be able to make games even more realistic thanks to the new technology of facial animation.

If EA’s idea is implemented, then tenology can significantly improve the expression of characters’ emotions in games and become innovative. It will shape faces, and each will be associated with its own identifier – this will allow you to create unique emotions and characters’ faces.

A key feature of the technology will be the generated emotions of characters depending on the situation. For example, in the next part of Battlefield, soldiers will use their faces to react to bullets and explosions flying by.

The patent does not include development for past generation of console games. The technology is being created for use on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
