Head of Chinese game publisher and Netflix producer dies - poisoning suspected

Billionaire founder of gaming company Yoozoo Games and producer of the Netflix adaptation of The Three-Body Problem, Lin Qi died at the age of 39 under mysterious circumstances. The investigation into his death is ongoing.

Two weeks ago, he went to the hospital, informing the doctors that he was seriously ill. Qi passed away two days ago. Police and the investigation team speculate that the producer may have been poisoned with drugs. Perhaps the reason was a change within Yoozoo.

The prime suspect is Xu Liao, another firm executive also in charge of film production. After Lin Qi’s death, a message appeared on his social network with a quote from Steve Jobs: “I would trade all my technology for a meeting with Socrates. Goodbye, friends.”

Yoozoo ranked 9th in profit last year. She is widely known for her games for mobile devices and PC. The company recently released Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming, based on the series of the same name.
