The streaming platform YouTube continues to take stock of 2020. Last time, the service named the most popular videos, and then talked about the success of video games. Now YouTube has presented statistics that are more related to the coronavirus.
With the advent of the pandemic, the life of the whole world has changed: certain social rules have appeared, due to which some people stay at home instead of going somewhere. According to a YouTube poll, 56% of viewers agreed that watching live streams is as good as attending an event in person.
Video content has become especially popular this year – 73% have watched a game stream at least once. For YT Gaming, 2020 was the most successful – users spent 100 billion hours watching videos. The most popular game was Minecraft.
Not without statistics related to home exercise. In connection with the pandemic and the changed lifestyle, people began to watch sports videos more often. The peak of views was reached in April this year.
