Anyone who has used an e-reader at least once knows how much more enjoyable it is to use these devices compared to traditional displays. Although they require external illumination in the dark, electronic ink displays look much nicer to our eyes. It’s like reading a text from a sheet of paper. Such comfort, especially during extended reading, has become one of the main reasons why many professionals, mainly working with text or numbers, would like to use full-fledged work monitors with electronic ink. I am one of them – often working with texts and documents, I would be happy to get an additional monitor based on E-Ink technology. Apparently, this dream may soon come true soon.
Dasung has announced the world’s first 25-inch Paperlike 253 work monitor based on e-ink technology.
The current version of the monitor is far from ideal – it includes only a black and white palette. In this case, the monitor resolution is 3200 by 1800 pixels. In addition, there is a high enough refresh rate for the monitor to be comfortable to use for work. Watching a movie and playing games on it will be inconvenient, but writing text, dealing with finances, sorting documents and programming – no problem.
The price of the monitor has not yet been announced, however, it will range from $ 1500 to $ 3000. Despite all the advantages, it is not worth rushing with the transition so far. Most likely, analogs with additional colors and improved characteristics will appear soon.
