Donald Trump pardoned congressman who spent government money on games on Steam

In 2016, US Congressman Duncan Hunter came under scrutiny after spending over $ 1,300 in campaign funds on video games on Steam. Hunter claimed that his teenage son did it, but then admitted that he did it himself.

Hunter and his wife Margaret spent $ 250 thousand of campaign funds on personal expenses. Among them are groceries, video games, holidays in Italy and much more. It turned out that spending on video games on Steam was also higher – almost $ 1530.

Hunter’s wife received a suspended sentence of three years and eight months of house arrest. Hunter himself received 11 months in prison in October. He was supposed to sit down on January 4, but the current US President Donald Trump intervened in the matter and completely pardoned him. American society is not very happy with this decision.

Margaret received no pardon.
