Between the releases of Mirror’s Edge and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst , DICE was working on a sequel. It was canceled in 2011 after several years of work, but now footage of the title has surfaced online. In 2015, they were posted by one of the studio employees on Instagram, but then they were quickly deleted.
There are two videos in total: one of the main character eliminates a police officer, the other shows the city at night. A small team worked on the game, and the details of the development are unknown.
Aesthetically and artistically, they do not differ from Mirror’s Edge . At the very least, DICE planned to keep the game’s art direction. Electronic Arts canceled the sequel in 2011. According to the publisher, early prototypes were disappointing and did not live up to expectations, and the low sales of the first part put an end to the development of ideas.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst was released on June 7, 2016 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
