Cyberpunk 2077 was a hit in China, but the game never even came out in the country

Cyberpunk 2077  has become a hit in many countries around the world, even where the game has not yet been officially released. China is one of these countries. Analyst Daniel Ahmad noted that the game is very popular in the Celestial Empire.

On all streaming platforms, the game attracted about 19 million viewers, according to Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders,  China was the leader in the world, and Ahmad rated initial sales as strong.

All of this would come as no surprise if  Cyberpunk 2077 were directly available in the country. Alas, players have to use VPNs and foreign accounts to appreciate the new hit CD Projekt RED. If the game were released immediately in the country, then another couple of million copies in sales would fall into the Poles’ piggy bank.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
