Sony has reportedly started refunding funds to gamers who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 but were unhappy with the current state. Which is quite fair – on the last generation console, in addition to bugs, the game has serious performance problems.
In a Reddit post, Sony is reimbursing the full game price even for players who have spent more than two hours in Cyberpunk 2077.
The author of the post writes:
I had to write a support statement and wait an hour to speak to someone, however the representative quickly returned and removed the game from my library.
Sony forces you to go through the chat first. Before that, I had never spoken to a live representative, so I used the automatic system, after which I got a number where I can call. The woman I spoke with reported that Sony has filed a complaint with CD Projekt RED regarding the problem. I was not the first person to call that day for a refund.
Another player also confirmed that after waiting an hour on the phone, he was still able to receive a refund.
CD Projekt RED itself is now urgently working on patches. In the coming days, a large-scale patch is expected, which should fix some of the main problems. Patch 1.04 has already been released with the first set of fixes.
In the meantime, the studio has already recaptured the development and marketing costs of Cyberpunk 2077 even before the release of the game – only on one pre-order, the number of which exceeded 8 million copies.
