Microsoft has added new features to the app, available for phones and tablets, that allows parents to control their kids’ use of Xbox consoles. Now you can block the platform remotely, as well as restrict access to some options.
The Redmond-based company explains that the feature can be used to motivate the youngest players, such as doing school homework or helping around the house. It is enough just to block the console until certain actions are performed.
Another implemented solution is purchase requisitions. If a child wants to buy a game or add-on, parents will receive a notification on the phone about this, and can give their consent or refuse the transaction. New functions have been added to the existing capabilities, which, among other things, allow you to set a limit for playing time, after which the console will be automatically locked.
In addition, there was a control over the list of friends and the ability to impose restrictions on the game with other players. The Xbox Family Settings app is available on iOS and Android mobile devices.
