BioWare unveiled a teaser for the next Mass Effect this morning , which formally confirmed that the game will unfold after the events of the original trilogy. This is indicated by the appearance of the well-known asari fans – Liara T’Soni, the corpses of the Reapers (it seems that the ending “destruction” became the canon) on the background and the N7 logo.
However, before “plunge” into the depths of the Milky Way, in the background, the developers showed a glimpse of Andromeda. The head of the new part, Michael Gamble, clearly hinted that the two galaxies were shown for a reason.
Theories that BioWare will connect Andromeda and the Milky Way walk from the date of occurrence of the first concept art. On them one could see Remnant buildings and a relay, which, according to the suppositions of fans, will be able to move ships from one galaxy to another.
In addition, Gamble named several veterans who are working on the new part. Among them:
- Derrek Watts, Art Director for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Anthem and the Mass Effect Trilogy
- Brenon Holmes, director of technical design for the Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Anthem
- Perrish Lay, cinematographer for the Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins and Anthem
- Dusty Everman, Level Designer for the Mass Effect and Andromeda Trilogy, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Anthem
He also noted that Benjamin Wallfish (“Blade Runner 2049”, “It”) was the composer of the teaser.
Gamble advised fans to take a closer look at the teaser to find all the details. The first Easter egg was a reference to the 1938 radio show of The War of the Worlds.
When the new Mass Effect comes out is unclear. A collection of remasters is expected next spring.
