Fallout 76 players are waiting for an expedition beyond the familiar map

During an interview with RPS, Jeff Gardner and Lead Quest Designer Brianna Schneider of the Bethesda team revealed that Fallout 76 players will be able to go beyond their familiar map. This is one of the directions for the development of MMORPG, which the developers have designated for themselves.

The expeditions were originally planned to be added in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they had to be postponed. To some extent, these will be small events, similar to the Far Harbor add-on for Fallout 4, in which players went to a remote location with a new storyline. It looks like Fallout 76 Expeditions will provide a glimpse into the world outside of Appalachia.

We have a large list of locations and are now discussing them. We’re looking for a way to introduce players to different areas in the Fallout universe.

They plan to talk about future updates in the foreseeable future, but there is no specifics yet. According to the developers, players now have enough content in the main game. The developers do not plan to stop supporting the game with new updates, and there are no plans to transfer them to a paid basis, as is done with TESO, and may not be.

Fallout 76 is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and next-gen consoles.
